Hi, I’m Joyce LaBaw.

After retiring in 2014 after 30+ years as a mechanical engineer at IBM, I was fortunate to be able to develop and explore my art. I work mostly in acrylics and paint abstracts and landscapes. I’m especially inspired by local Texas flora and fauna.

My art has been exhibited at the Austin Bergstrom International Airport, Bass Concert Hall, Zach Theater, Beverly Sheffield Education Center at Barton Springs pool, Old Bakery and Emporium, Link & Pin Art Space and various businesses in Austin.

I currently serve on the board of the Creative Arts Society and volunteer at the Community First! Village Art House. I am grateful for the support of the community. I’ve lived in Austin for 30 years. My husband and I have two grown sons in Houston. My hobbies, in addition to painting, include swimming, yoga, reading and aquaponics.
